Simple Frosted Brownies ?

 Ingredients for Brownies:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Ingredients for Frosting:

  • 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (125g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Brownies:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Mix until smooth.
    • Add in the eggs, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
    • Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined—be careful not to overmix.
    • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
  2. Prepare the Frosting:

    • In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
    • Add the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until smooth and creamy.
    • If the frosting is too thick, add a little more milk. If it’s too thin, add more powdered sugar.
  3. Frost the Brownies:

    • Once the brownies are completely cool, spread the frosting evenly over the top.
    • For a personal touch, sprinkle some chocolate shavings, chopped nuts, or colorful sprinkles on top.
  4. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Cut the frosted brownies into squares and serve. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
